Sampling Cylinders: Technical Overview
Sampling cylinders (also called sample bombs or sample bottles) are pressure-rated stainless steel containers used to collect, transport, and store representative samples of process fluids from refineries, chemical plants, and natural gas facilities. They are the critical interface between the closed loop sampling panel and the laboratory — preserving the sample's composition, pressure, and temperature from extraction through analysis.
Wanan manufactures two primary cylinder types: standard sampling cylinders with double-end needle valves for stable liquids and gases, and constant-pressure (piston) cylinders with an internal spring-loaded piston for volatile liquids where maintaining process pressure is essential to prevent light-end vaporization. Both types are manufactured from 316L stainless steel with full material traceability.
